There are many ways we can give back to our communities. Local organizations, businesses and community advocates have gone above and beyond for our neighbors; — especially during the past couple years.  April is National Volunteer Month and a great time to consider giving back to your community.

The attorneys and staff with Althauser Rayan Abbarno want to thank our community for staying strong, staying together and supporting each other. We are proud to serve individuals and businesses in and out of the courtroom.

“For more than 75 years, our attorneys and staff have been volunteering and participating in projects and events that help life our community up,” said Todd Rayan, partner with Althauser Rayan Abbarno. “We want our community and its members to be successful.”

Here are some of the community projects and events Althauser Rayan Abbarno invites you to join them in supporting.

“I joined my father on many 5k races when I was a child and he kept us active year-round. So, it was natural for me to carry that tradition on in our community by supporting and sponsoring the Turkey Trot, Run Amok Irish Running Club, Centralia Youth Soccer and our Lewis County Special Olympics,” said Peter Abbarno, partner with Althauser Rayan Abbarno. “Sports can be a great unifier for a community and family. We want to promote a healthy and active community.”

The Thorbeckes Athletic Performance Turkey Trot, presented by Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP takes place every Thanksgiving morning and benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Lewis County and the Chehalis Foundation. Stay tuned for more information.

Run Amok Irish Running Club holds family friendly 5k run/walk events every Thursday in downtown Centralia outside of O’Blarney’s at the Gibson House at 6 p.m. and a kickoff run on March 19 at Dick’s Brewing Company.

“Working in Centralia and especially for a law firm such as Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP, their active volunteer presence makes them someone who is not just a business, but someone who is committed through their volunteer efforts to making our community better,” said Sheryl Fogerty, paralegal with Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP.

“We believe in the important educational opportunities in our community, whether that be kindergarten ready, career ready or college bound,” said Jakob McGhie, partner with Althauser Rayan Abbarno. “There are many great opportunities to support education in our community with the Rob Fuller Scholarship, the Centralia College Foundation or the United Learning Center.”

“This is the best team I have ever worked with; everyone jumps in to help make the day run smooth,” said Penny Black, receptionist with Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP. “It’s not just a place to work. We are a family and support each other.”

  • Back to School Supply Drive

“Every child in our community should have an equal opportunity to be successful in school,” says Peter Abbarno. “That starts with being prepared on the first day of school with the right tools for success.”

Althauser Rayan Abbarno helped organize the Centralia Back to School Supply Drive and partnered with a variety of businesses and organizations like the United Way of Lewis County to collect and distribute back-to-school supplies.
