Drunk driving is a continuing problem during the holiday season that begins during Thanksgiving week and extends through New Year’s Day.
According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), 40% of traffic-related deaths during Christmas and New Year’s involve drivers who are impaired, which is a 12% increase over the rest of the month of December.
